Vivian Vey Kent

   Vivian Vey Kent passed away on Thursday October 29, 2020 at Luther Memorial Nursing Home in Mayville, ND at the age of 90.

   Vivian was the second child of eight born to Ernest and Myrtle Erickson on May 4, 1930 in Page, ND. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran in Page, ND. Vivian grew up in the Page area, attended country school, graduated from Page High School and earned her nursing license at St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Fargo.

   Vivian married Leslie Kent from Page at Our Saviors Lutheran Church on September 15, 1950. Vivian and Leslie made their homes in several places including Simcoe, Velva and Minot ND, Bellevue WA, Bellevue NE and Englewood CO. In 1988, Vivian and Leslie retired and returned to live in Page. Vivian moved to the Bemidji area in 2015 and in 2019 moved back to Luther Memorial Nursing Home in Mayville.

   On top of a career in nursing and a life filled with family, Vivian was an active and giving community member, volunteer and friend to so many wherever she lived, touching many lives through her giving spirit.   Some of her hobbies included collecting angels, playing cards, following the Minnesota Twins, trips to the casino with siblings, baking cakes, an active church life and being a connoisseur of lutefisk and lefse.

   Vivian and Leslie have six children: Laurie Inkin of Victor NY, Lynda (John) Biffle of Bemidji MN, Lynn (Lynette) of Dickinson ND, Landis (Anne) of Pine Haven WY, Laddie (Susan) of Parker CO and Larry (Andrea) of Bemidji MN. Vivian was a proud grandmother to 28 grandchildren (15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren) and known as Auntie Viv to many beloved nieces and nephews. 

   Vivian was proceeded in death by her husband: Leslie Kent and her grandson: Justin Abrahamson; her parents; 3 brothers and 1 sister.  

Memorials may be given to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Page, ND.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Page, ND.
