Ted W. Reiter, 68, of Hatton, ND passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2019, surrounded by his family.
Ted was born May 16, 1950 to Henry (Hank) and Helen (Dickinson) Reiter in Beach, ND. He attended school in Beach. He graduated from Minot State in 1973 with a B.A. in Math and Physical Education. Ted threw javelin and played baseball at Minot State.
He married Marsha Maus on August 19, 1977 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Beach. They lived in Beach and managed the family store, the Dickinson Store, for nine years. They were blessed with four children. They moved to Hatton, ND in 1990, where he taught and coached. He retired from teaching in 2012. He enjoyed life on “the farm,” his eight grandchildren, good food, golfing, music, technology, and his many friends.
Ted is survived by his wife: Marsha, of 41 years; children: Teddi (Phil) O’Loughlin of Londonderry, NH, Beth (Clyde) Swaby of Kenai, AK, Scott (Natalie) Reiter of Fargo, ND and Abby Reiter of Hatton, ND; eight grandchildren: Caelum, Brenner, & Teagan O’Loughlin; Aurora, Kinley, & Colt Swaby; Ireland & William Reiter; his mother Helen of Wibaux, MT; his sisters: Mary (James) Lawin of Dickinson, ND, Jan Sykora of St. Cloud, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father: Hank; brother-in-law: Everett Sykora; and his favorite dog: Mugsy.
Visitation: Will be 5–7 PM with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service, followed by a Masonic Service by Goose River Lodge #19, on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
Funeral Service (Mayville): 10:00 AM Friday, March 22, 2019 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Mayville, ND.
Funeral Service (Beach): 1:00 PM Saturday, March 23, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Beach, ND.
Burial: Will be in the Sentinel Butte City Cemetery, Sentinel Butte, ND.
