STEVEN J. BAKER
Steven John Baker, born July 23rd, 1945 in Rogers, AR to John and June (Hudson) Baker. He moved to Hunter, ND and later to Mayville, ND.
After graduating high school in Mayville, he attended Mayville State College, then transferred to the University of Minnesota to get his Mortuary Science degree. While at the University of Minnesota he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Vietnam. Upon returning from Vietnam, he finished his degree at the U of M.
He enjoyed scuba diving and took many oceanic trips, including Guam and the Great Barrier Reef. Also, he had a love of cars and motorcycles which led him to many areas of the U.S. and Canada. Steve and his wife owned and operated the Baker Funeral Home and Mayville Furniture for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marion, son, Kristopher, Paradise Valley, AZ, granddaughter, Alexis, Denver, CO, grandson, Craig, International Falls, MN, and his brother, Rodney and three nephews, Ryan, Adam, and Jay, OKC, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his grandson, Jesse.
A Celebration of Life will be Friday, October 13, 2023 at 1:00 pm in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Mayville, ND, visitation will be one hour before services in the Church. Interment will be in the Mayville Cemetery with Military Honors.
