Richard Allan Neset

   Richard Allen Neset, 87, of Mayville ND passed away on Saturday April 29, 2023 after a short stay in the Sanford Mayville Medical Center.

   Richard was born 7-1-1935 on the farm in rural Mayville to Oscar and Elizabeth (Christensen) Neset. He attended school at Mayville #3 School, which was located ½ mile East of the Neset farm. Richard graduated from Mayville High School. He then attended UND for a short time.

   In 1961 Richard married Leslie Thomson from Grafton ND. Together they had three children. Richard farmed in rural Mayville, until he retired in 2010, but he continued to help his son Andy on the farm, with things like moving equipment to fields until last fall.

   Richard enjoyed getting together with his buddies for hunting and fishing. He enjoyed family ski trips and did a lot of traveling with his second wife. Richard served the community by being on the Mayville township board, the Mayville Elevator board and by being a trustee for the Eagles Club in Mayville.

   Richard is survived by his children: Brett (Terri) Mayville ND, Andy (Jean) Mayville ND and Deborah Neset Cody Chandler AZ; 9 grandchildren: Cole (Jennifer) Neset, Cody Neset, Katie Neset, Ashley (Briar) Bahnmiller, Julie (Ty) Gregor, Isabelle Neset, Benjamin Cody, Tiffany Cody and Jeremiah Cody; 5 great grandchildren: Halle Neset, Reed Neset, Grahm Neset, Elise Neset, Mariah Cody; siblings: LeRoy, Stuart (Bea) and Sharon (Walter) Heintschel.

Visitation:  Will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Memorial Service: Will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 26, 2023 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND.
