Phyllis Lundeby, 90, of Mayville, ND died on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the Sanford Hospital in Mayville, ND. Phyllis was born January 28, 1928 in Pine Creek, MN, the daughter of Halvor S. and Mollie (Haugen) Halvorson. Growing up, she attended Greenbush High School, graduating in 1947. Shortly after high school, she moved to Mayville to work as a Nurse’s Aide at the “Old” Mayville Hospital: under Dr. R.C. Little, Dr Lafleur and Dr. Wheeler. Phyllis met Kenneth Lundeby while he was working for Baker Funeral Home. They were married on April 29, 1950 in Moorhead, MN. To this union, Denise, John and Karen were born. Phyllis followed her husband to where his military jobs located them while holding down the fort raising three children. After retirement, they moved back to Mayville in 1969 and wintered in Florida for 25 years. Phyllis and Ken moved to Dickinson in 2005 to be closer to family. Phyllis entered the Luther Memorial Home in February of 2017. She had many hobbies including, reading, knitting and she was an avid golfer for 40 years. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family, especially with her sisters, nieces and nephews. She is survived by Denise (Dean) Thoreson of Seward, NE; John (Ann) Lundeby of O’Fallon, IL; and Karen (Howard) Sharpe of Fargo, ND; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight sisters, one brother and their spouses. The family requests memorials be given to the Luther Memorial Home. Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Mayville Lutheran Church in Mayville, ND. Burial: Will be on Monday 5/21/2018 at 3PM in the Mayville Cemetery in Mayville, ND.
