Mary Ann Groven

   Mary Ann Groven, 77, of Portland, ND died on Friday, February 4, 2022 at the Mayville Hospital in Mayville, ND.

   Mary was born at Union Hospital on July 6, 1944 in Mayville, ND to Oscar and Alice (Severson) Groven. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at the Aurdal Lutheran Church in Portland, ND. After her schooling in Portland, Mary Ann worked for numerous families babysitting. She also worked for a time at the Portland Café.

   MaryAnn was a very down to earth person who enjoyed conversations with friends and family. She loved to laugh and spent numerous hours doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She always enjoyed the sound and presence of children.

   She is survived by a son: Todd of Portland, ND; 2 sisters: Millie Dakota of Mandan, ND and Linda Belgrade of Livermore, CA; 2 brothers: Orville (Terry) Groven of Walla Walla, WA and Bruce (Vickie) Groven of Hope, ND; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

   Preceding her in death are her parents; 2 brothers: Elroy and Dennis; 2 brothers-in-law: Vernon Dakota and Richard Belgrade; a great nephew: Vernon, Jr; a great-great nephew: Cory; 3 great-great nieces: Ashley, Natashia and Sara.
