Marian E. Knudsvig passed away into perfect peace on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the age of 96, in Grand Forks, ND. Marian was born on September 24, 1922, on a farm near Reynolds ND to Sidney and Olga (Syverson) Tweten. She graduated from Reynolds High School in 1940, attended Concordia College, Moorhead, MN and graduated as a Registered Nurse from Fairview Hospital, Minneapolis, MN in 1944. She married Adrian S. Knudsvig on December 19, 1948 at St. Olaf’s Lutheran Church, rural Reynolds, ND. Together they had 3 children. Marian was an excellent cook, baker, seamstress and homemaker. She was a gardener of vegetables and flowers, Cub Scout Den Mother, Chauffeur to piano and organ lessons, family photographer, and nurse to family and the community. Marian managed the Knudsvig Corner Grocery Store in Buxton and even built a new store. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Buxton where she taught Sunday school for various ages. She was active in American Lutheran Church Women, even nationally. Marian is survived by two children: Sandra Knudsvig of Winston-Salem, NC; Morgan (Nita) Knudsvig of Newton, KS; daughter-in-law: Bonny Knudsvig of East Grand Forks, MN; 5 grandchildren: Tony Knudsvig of Grand Forks, ND, James (Brenda) Brown of Tavares, FL, Cory (Jannel) of Winston-Salem, Janae Brown of Lakeland, FL and Sarah (Devin) Vail of Leesburg, VA; 8 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; and a sister: Erlys Hedlund of Roseau, MN. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and soulmate: Adrian. She was also preceded in death by her son: Bruce; brothers: Obed, Malcolm, Harold, Kenneth and sisters: Beryl and Harriet. Marian’s family extends a special thank you to the staff at Prairieview for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Luther Memorial Home or Valley Memorial Music Department. Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Buxton, ND. Burial: Will be at the Immanuel East Cemetery in Buxton, ND.
