Lucille Weil, 89, of Mayville, ND formerly of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND. She was born March 28, 1929 in Pillsbury ND, the 4th of 6 children born to Henry and Lorena (Griebel) Fox. She attended school in Pillsbury prior to moving with her family to South Dakota, during World War II, while her parents worked at the Black Hills Ordnance Depot. In 1957, she married Verne Weil of Portland, OR and moved to Olympia, WA where they lived until his death in 1980. She then returned to North Dakota where she worked at North Dakota State University in Fargo until retiring in the mid-1990s. Lucille enjoyed walking, listening to the radio, and corresponding with friends she met while working at NDSU. She loved dogs, especially spending time with her sister’s Sheltie and later, while at Luther Memorial Home, interacting with the resident therapy dog, Scooby. She is survived by her sisters: Mildred Walters of Columbia Falls, MT, Vera (Carl) Madsen of Fargo, ND, and Norma Asp of Mayville, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters Marjorie Ogden and Margaret Hull. The family would like to thank the staff at Luther Memorial Home for the loving care they provided to Lucille. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
