Our loving mother, Lorraine A. Baasch, 89, of Valley City, ND, formerly of Page, ND, died Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Elim Care Center, Fargo, ND. Lorraine Annabelle Zerface was born to Sydney and Isabelle (Senn) Zerface on April 16, 1929, in her parent’s farmhouse 11 miles north of Tower City, ND. She attended Kelly School, rural Tower City, until the 8th grade. She graduated from Page High School in 1947. On December 19, 1947, she married William (Bill) C. Baasch in Moorhead, MN on a stormy day. They lived on Bill’s father’s farm that was two miles from Lorraine’s parent’s farm. This is where they raised their family of six children. They lived there until they semi-retired from farming in 1994 and moved into Page. Lorraine enjoyed gardening, canning, playing cards, square dancing and raising their family. Lorraine moved from Page to Bridgeview Estates in Valley City on November 2, 2013. Lorraine was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she was a member of WELCA. She was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary for more than 60 years, TOPS for many years and the Page Community Club. She is survived by her children: Connie (Bruce) Hammond, Michael (Nan) Baasch, Lynette (Lynn) Kent, Donald (Lisa) Baasch and Kevin (Barb) Baasch; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; brothers: Charles and James Zerface; sisters-in-law: Edith and Louise Zerface; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; son: Terry; four brothers: Harold, Glen, Lester and Phil; and one sister: Alice. Visitation: Will be 5–7 PM with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Page, ND and will resume one hour prior to the funeral service. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Page, ND. Burial: Will be at the Page Cemetery in Page, ND.
