Loretta Satrom

   Loretta Mae Satrom, 95, of Galesburg, ND died on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the Guardian Angels by the Lake Senior Living in Elk River, MN.

    Loretta was born November 2, 1925 to Lars Alfred and Neva Marion (LaPlant) Anderson in Binford, ND. She grew up in Cooperstown, ND where she graduated from Cooperstown High School. She worked on the family farm and as a midwife assistant before attending the Mayville State Teacherage. She taught in one-room schools before marrying Paul Thorson Satrom on June 6, 1947. They lived on farms in Clifford, ND and Galesburg, ND where they raised their four children, Larry Paul, Linda Paulette, Lois Pauline and LeAnn Paula.

   Loretta was known for her baking, cooking, embroidery, quilting and love for her family, church and community. She was an active member of the Norman Lutheran Church serving as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, WELCA officer, member of the Mary Circle, Luther League Advisor and planned many an event, meal, or served in whatever needed. She was also active in the American Legion Auxiliary, Farmers Union and other community and school groups. She often served as an advisor for FHA, chaperone for school dances, and other events and organizations where she supported her children. Faith, family and food were very important to her. One of her great joys was planning social activities for family and friends for holidays, birthdays and just for fun. She especially enjoyed celebrating with her birthday club where they always had plenty of food, cake and lots of laughter. Whenever someone new came to the community she welcomed them with a good meal and great conversation; and she was always there to lend a helping hand, encouragement, support or her warm smile to anyone who needed it.

   She is survived by her children:  Larry (Patricia) Satrom, Linda (Douglas) Moen, Lois Lugert, and LeAnn (David) Snidarich; 14 grandchildren: Corey (Deena) Satrom, Murial Satrom, Amy (Arturo) Rucci, Sheri Moen, Michael (Mary) Moen, Jessica (Jason) Kleinsasser, JoDee Davis, Joni (Matt) Smith, Jolynn (Jason) Allen, Jenice (Tim) Lewis, Joshua Lugert, Shelby Snidarich, Bailey Snidarich and Jamison Snidarich; 25 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

   Loretta is preceded in death by her husband: Paul T. Satrom; parents: Lars and Neva Anderson; siblings: Leal, William, Leonard, Nina, Raymond, Oliver and Carol Anderson; son-in-law: Roger Lugert and great-grandson: Cameron Lewis.

Visitation:  Will be 5–7 PM on Monday, July 5, 2021 with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral Service: Will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at the Norman Lutheran Church in Clifford, ND.

Burial: Will be in the Clifford Cemetery in Clifford, ND.
