Lee Norval Nerdahl of Sharon, ND passed away at Sanford Hospital in Fargo ND on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the age of 79. His wife and 2 children were by his side. Lee was born July 22, 1939 in North Dakota to Norval and Hazel (Klabo) Nerdahl. He attended school in Sharon North Dakota and graduated from High School in Port Hueneme, CA. He attended college at North Dakota State University for a short time and joined the National Guard where he was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He returned to Sharon to begin farming with his father. Lee married his wife of 60 years, Norma Elaine Netland on September 28, 1958 at Hoff Lutheran Church in Sharon, ND. They lived in Fargo for a short time before moving to Sharon where Lee continued to farm with his father and brother. He enjoyed spending the winter months in Arizona. He had a passion for farming and after retirement in 2006, he continued to spend summers checking on crops and discussing farming over coffee with the boys in town. Lee was actively involved in bringing rural water to the Finley & Sharon Communities and served on the Rural Water Board for many years. Lee is survived by his wife: Norma, Sharon; son: Mark Nerdahl, Moorhead, MN; daughter: Diane (Mark) Dick, Grand Rapids, MN; 2 grandchildren: Toby (Stacy) Holmgren and Zach Dick; 2 great-grandchildren; brother: Dean (Sandy) Nerdahl; sister: Joan (Roger) Netland; sister-in-law: Cheryl and several nieces and nephews. Lee enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be remembered and missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents: Norval and Hazel Nerdahl and his brother: Boyd. Memorials preferred to Sharon Cemetery and Trinity Lutheran Church in Sharon. Visitation: Will be 5–7 PM with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the Baker Funeral Home in Mayville, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 10:30 AM Friday, October 26, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sharon, ND. Burial: Will be at the Sharon Public Cemetery in Sharon, ND.
