LaVonne’s parents were Hannah (Larson) and Alfred Aagenes, both of Fertile, MN. LaVonne was born in rural Fertile, MN. LaVonne has found memories of walking 2 miles to the country schoolhouse. In the winter, she was lucky to ride in a horse drawn sleigh to school. Growing up, LaVonne loved playing with her siblings, as well as sewing and embroidery. She graduated from Gary High School (MN) in 1944. She attended business college in Fargo and Miles City, MT earning an AA degree in Business. LaVonne worked in Fargo as a secretary and bookkeeper for Herbst department store.
She went back to Fertile during the Fertile Fair the summer of 1946 where she met the love of her life, TL Christianson. He looked so handsome in his Navy uniform, and she said “yes” when he offered to drive her home. The two married August 23, 1947, and moved to St. Louis for TL to attend Chiropractic school. She worked as an Office Manager. They moved to Miles City, MT where TL opened a Chiropractic office. LaVonne worked as a secretary for the Veteran’s Administration Hospital. The newlyweds moved to Mayville, ND, in 1953, and soon built a house/Chiropractic office. They raised three children, Connie, Alan, and Susan.
Besides being a fantastic mother, LaVonne was involved in many organizations in the community and church. She was Worthy Matron for Eastern Star, Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary, Past President of the Chiropractic Auxiliary, Past President of the VFW Auxiliary, a Sunday School teacher, Leader for the Luther League, Vacation Bible School, Camp Fire Girls, Woman’s Club, and Past President of Sons of Norway. She loved to play cards, particularly Bridge, and attend Ladies Day at the golf-course.

She was so proud of her grandchildren: to include Kyle (Amanda) Kaldor, Marshall (Jolynn) Kaldor, Demi (Thad) Bahl, Michael Christianson, Connor Leacy and Shavonne Leacy.
