LaVerne “Lovey” Aamold, 88, of Mayville, ND, died Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND. LaVerne was born on August 29, 1929 on her grandparent’s farm near McVille, ND to John and Cora Bakke. She attended grade school at a country school near Mapes, ND and graduated from high school in Michigan, ND. On February 14, 1949, she married Roy Gilbert Stenoien who preceded her in death in June 1949. On March 17, 1951, she married Charles Luther Aamold at the Mayville Lutheran Church in Mayville. After her husband retired in 1986 they returned to Mayville in 1989 and then moved to Portland, ND in 2004. Lovey entered the Luther Memorial Home in 2014. Along with being a mother of five children, she worked as a secretary at a dental office and as a clerk at Fugleberg’s Pharmacy. She enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles and flower gardening. She also enjoyed quilting with the women of the church. Lovey is survived by her daughter: Deborah Aamold; three sons: Steve Aamold, Tim (Michelle) Aamold and John (Robin) Aamold; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law: Lisa Aamold and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by husband Charles Aamold in March 2006 and son Bart Aamold in December 2016. Memorial contributions may be made to Aurdal Lutheran Church, Portland and the Luther Memorial Home, Mayville. A memorial gathering will take place on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 2 PM at the Luther Memorial Home Chapel in Mayville, ND.
