Harry Don Knodle passed away on Thursday, May 9th, at the age of 88. Harry was the son of Harry and Eva (Kretsinger) Knodle. He grew up on the family farm in rural Clifford, ND, a place he never really left. Harry lived in Mayville, Hope, Valley City and Hankinson ND but travelled to the farm almost daily until he reached an advanced age and could not travel “home” any longer.
Born on November 30th, 1930, he married Beulah Mae Berg on October 20, 1951 in Red Lake Falls, MN. Initially living on the farm, they moved to Mayville, ND where they were residents until Beulah’s death in August of 1993.
Besides the family farm; Harry worked at the Mayville Creamery, Bell Telephone, City of Mayville and Union Hospital until his retirement shortly after Beulah’s death.
Harry had a life-long love of animals. He had livestock on the farm throughout his adult life and for many years after retirement. His love for his parents’ homestead and where he grew up never left him and he travelled thousands of miles to return over the years, and was always happy and energized each time he was able to return.
Harry is survived by his sons: Tom (Bonnie) of Williston, ND and grandchildren: Stacy (Marty), Chad and Tanya (Paul); Keith (Julie) of Mesa, AZ and grandchildren: Jodi (Paul), Josiah (Lauren) and Jennifer (Wes); and Kim (Rhonda) of Valley City, ND and grandchildren: Emily (Melissa) and Evan. Harry has 15 great grandchildren: Darian Haug, Brooklyn Haug, Mia Knodle, Alexa Knodle, Kaitlyn Plageman, Keira Plageman, Emylia Coffman, Sophia Coffman, Aiden Knodle, Avery Knodle, Alexis Knodle, Madison Brand, Karli Brand, Paetyn Brand, Sutton Boarman; his sisters: Doris Domier and Donna Johnson; special friend: Leona Kragness and many nieces and nephews.
