Harris O. Woell

   Harris O. Woell, 95, of Mayville, ND formerly of Clifford, ND, died Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND.    He was born March 19, 1923, near Clifford, ND, to Otto and Lillian (Johnson) Woell. He had an older brother, Wallace, and a younger brother William. He attended rural school at Edendale # 1, Edendale Township, Steele County, ND, and graduated from the eighth grade.    Harris was drafted into the Army serving two years in the infantry and in the Army Air Corps, stationed in the Philippines in Leyte during World War II. He also worked in aircraft factories in California during the winter months. He farmed with his father and later on his own on the family farm near Clifford. He remained on the family farm after retiring, and in 2010, he became a resident of Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. He liked reading about motors and doing mechanic work, especially auto mechanics. In later years, his hobbies included reading newspapers, visiting and listening to the radio.    He is survived by friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Wallace and William. Visitation:  Will be from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at the Luther Memorial Home Chapel. Funeral Service: 1:30 PM Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the Luther Memorial Home Chapel in Mayville, ND. Military Honors: May~Port Honor Guard and the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors. Burial: Will be in the Hope Cemetery in Hope, ND.
