Gerald Leland Evenstad

   Gerald Leland Evenstad, 81, of Mayville, ND died on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND.

   Gerald was born Sept 21, 1938 at Grand Forks, ND to Oscar and Beda    (Almquist) Evenstad. He grew up in Reynolds, ND. He graduated from Minneapolis Miller Vocational High School.

   Gelald married Adeline Sanda Nov. 13, 1976 at Beaver Creek Church rural Hatton, ND. They resided in Portland, ND. Adeline passed away in Sept. 2016. His main occupation was diesel mechanic and was employed at Pederson Implement, Northwood, ND at the time of his retirement.  He entered Luther Memorial Home, Mayville the spring of 2017.

   Gerald was a member of the Goose River Lodge #19 of Mayville and was raised a Master Mason in 1977. He later served as Worshipful Master in 1982. Brother Gerald was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Grand Forks and was a Noble of Kem Shrine since 1979.

   Survivors include a sister: Ardis Craighton of Texas; nieces and nephews: Leslie, Carol, Dale, Diane, Janice and Doris; his step children:  Dennis Sanda, Lyle (June) Sanda, Orion (Anita) Sanda all of Northwood, ND and Linda Gray of Grand Forks, ND.

   Preceding him in death were his parents and wife, Adeline.

Visitation:  Will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Masonic Service: 7:00 PM Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND.

Burial: Will be in the America’s Cemetery in Reynolds, ND.
