Gary M. Brooks

   Retired Sgt Gary Martin Brooks passed away May 10th, 2024 at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville North Dakota after bravely battling cancer for three years. He was 72 years old.

   Gary was born to Paul Meyers and Audrey Meyers Brooks on November 5th, 1951, He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years before retiring into civilian life, whereupon he would work in various jobs including a custodian for First National Bank and a supervisor for Peavey Elevator. After retiring from there he worked driving truck for Elkhorn Farms, all to support his family and loved ones.

   Gary enjoyed a great many hobbies including: hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, restoring his El Camino, and taking care of his property to name a few. He took pride in being there for his neighbors and strangers alike.

   Gary leaves behind the love of his life and his best friend, his wife of 18 years: Cindy Pecka Brooks. Gary is also survived by his sister: Tami Baird; his stepchildren: Tracie, Keith, Mark and Jerry as well as grandchildren: Scott, Katie and Johnathan.

Gary requested no memorial or funeral; his family will hold a private service for the spreading of his ashes. He will be dearly missed.
