Floyd Sunday Erickson

   Floyd Sunday Erickson, 90, died Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Sanford Health Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.     Floyd was born on October 2, 1927, in Hunter, ND, to Edward and Betsy (Sannes) Erickson.  Floyd’s mother passed away while he was just 11 years old and was raised by his father, sister (Adeline) and brother (Orville). He went to Greenfield Country School and attended Oak Grove High School, Fargo, ND, graduating in 1945. “Sharky” was known for his quickness and left handed shots while playing on the basketball team.     After high school, while farming with his father, Floyd met and married Mildred Ulland of Galesburg, ND making their home in Greenfield Township. They continued to farm until 1990 and then Floyd helped with farm work when his oldest son, (Dean), took over the farming. He continued to go to the farm to help out whenever needed.  Farming was his lifetime career. In his retirement years he took up woodworking and did volunteer work at Cooperstown Bible Camp.     Floyd served on the Dakota High School Board, Elm River Credit Union Board (Page, ND), and the Greenfield Township Board.  He also served on the Stordahl Lutheran Church Board and was a member there his entire life.    Floyd is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mildred Erickson; children, Charlotte (Jerry) Rempfer, Dean (Kriss) Erickson, Paulette (Daylen) Ramstad, and Don (Diane) Erickson; grandchildren, Katelin (Mark) Sutherland, Nicholas (Danielle) Erickson, Adam (Ashley) Erickson, Matthew (Ashley) Erickson, Leah (Adam Ness) Ramstad, Jodi (John) Kelly, Ashley (Noah) Ramstad, Tess Erickson and Lance Erickson; 12 great-grandchildren, Noelle, Nyla, Drew and Dane Erickson, Brogen, Avery, Adley and Braela Erickson, Oliver Erickson, Colton and Coralynn Kelly and Jacob Ness; along with many extended family.  Floyd was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all.    Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Betsy; his brother, Edgar; brother and sister-in-law, Orville(Anita); sister and brother-in-law, Adeline (Kenneth) Jones; and grandson, Dane Rempfer.   Visitation:  Will be prior to the service from 1 to 3 PM on Saturday, March 3l, 2018 at the Stordahl Lutheran Church in Galesburg, ND. Funeral Service: 3:00 PM Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Stordahl Lutheran Church in Galesburg, ND. Burial: Will be in the Stordahl Cemetery in Galesburg, ND.
