Eileen Amb

 Eileen Amb, 96, of Mayville, ND died Friday, September 6, 2024 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND.

 Eileen was born on May 19, 1928 to Gerhard and Sophie (Huus) Braaten in rural Hatton and joined her sisters, Marjorie and Solveig. She was raised in Hatton, ND, and attended Hatton School.

 She was united in marriage on April 25, 1944 to Ingolf Amb in Fargo, ND. They resided in rural Portland, ND where they farmed and raised their 6 children. She was a true farm wife where she cooked for her family and all the farm workers, but her priority was raising her children. Eileen loved to bake and cook. She also enjoyed dancing and listening to her granddaughter’s band. Her favorite memories were when all her children and grandchildren were at their farm. 

 She is survived by her children: Shirley (Leon) Sand of Clifford, ND, Loretta Seaver of Climax, MN, Martin (Jill Anderson) of Portland, ND, Mark (Mary Jo) of Portland, ND and Susan (Kevin) Hohnadel of Portland, ND. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law: Sharon Amb of Portland, ND; 22 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. 

 She was preceded in death by her parents: Gerhard and Sophie; her husband: Ingolf; son: Gary; son-in-law: Robert Seaver; an infant great-granddaughter and sisters: Marjorie Aasen and Solveig Hovland.

 Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral Service: Will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at the Aurdal Lutheran Church in Portland, ND.

Burial: Will be in the Aurdal Cemetery in Portland, ND.
