Donald L. Jacobson

October 19, 1931 — April 25, 2022

   Donald Jacobson, 90, of Galesburg, ND died on Monday, April 25, 2022 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND.

   Donald was born in October 1931 to Edwin and Dina (Hangaard) Jacobson in Gully. MN.  He grew up in the Gully-Gonvick area. Later his family moved to Bagley, MN.

   He served in the Army and was stationed in France during the Korean war. Following an honorable discharge, he returned home to Bagley.

   Donald Jacobson and Maureen Halverson were united in marriage in March 1957.  They moved to Glenburn, ND where Donald worked at an elevator. They later moved to Galesburg, ND where he worked as a carpenter at Great Plains Supply until it closed.  After retirement he enjoyed driving tractor for Wayne Satrom.

   He was a member at Stordahl Lutheran church, and with Maureen, was active in square dancing for several years. He enjoyed using his carpentry skills to create beautiful wood items that Maureen would paint and they would take to craft sales around the region.

   Donald is survived by his wife: Maureen of Galesburg, ND; his son: Wade of Galesburg, ND; nieces: Denise (Jim) Larson of Moorhead, MN and Barb Halverson of Fargo, ND; great nieces: Dawn Cramer of Minneapolis, MN, Darsi (Mark) Chaney of Grapevine, TX, Deanne Cramer of Little Canada, MN, Bre (Josh) Clark of Elk River, MN and Katie Larson of Denver, CO.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Dina Jacobson; sister Dorothy Jacobson and niece Karen (Jacobson) Otte.

Visitation:  Will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral Service: Will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 2, 2022 at the Elm River Lutheran Church in Galesburg, ND.

Military Honors: SB Aasen Post 210 of Galesburg ND and the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors.

Burial: Will be in the Stordahl Cemetery in Galesburg, ND.
