Dennis V. Olson

   Dennis Olson, age 95 of Fargo, ND, previously of Mayville ND died Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Ecumen Evergreens of Fargo under the care of Hospice, his caregivers and his family.

   Dennis was born May 14, 1925 on the family farm near Hillsboro, ND the son of Alvin and Leona (Brokke) Olson.

   He was united in marriage to Margaret Vleck in 1949.  They have 3 daughters;   Jean, Connie and Paulette.  Farming was his passion and when the opportunity to farm his father-in-laws land near Osnabrock, ND arose, Dennis and family moved to the farm.  Dennis and Margaret settled there until his retirement in 1987. After retiring from farming, they moved to Mayville, ND.  In retirement, during the winter season, they could be found in Apache Junction, AZ enjoying the warm weather and many friends. 

   Dennis worked for a number of farmers in the Mayville area and did handyman work.  He could repair almost anything.  Dennis was always available to build, fix or work on a project for his family, church or a neighbor. 

He was an active member of the Gideon organization and though not a speaker, he was always willing to be a part of giving out Bibles at colleges, fairs and other events.  Dennis and Margaret were married for 67 years until her passing in January 2014.  Dennis then moved to Fargo and lived with his daughter and son-in-law until moving to Evergreens Assisted Living. 

   Dennis was loved and honored by all who knew him.  His daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren all meant so much to him.  He loved being with them and always kept them in his prayers.

   Dennis is survived by his children: Jean (Jerry) Jones, Connie (Ronald) Sundquist and Paulette (Lydell) Schultz; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and his sister: Marian Johnson. 

   He is preceded in death by his wife, parents and brother-in-law.

Masks are required.

The service to celebrate the life of Dennis will be at 1:00pm Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Mayville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Carlson Cemetery in rural Cummings, ND.
