Darrel Bartholomew

  Darrel Lynn Bartholomew was born December 15, 1938 in Grafton, ND to Daniel and Vivian (Swenson) Bartholomew. After graduating from St. Thomas High School, he attended UND where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Darrel graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Education. Darrel went on to become vocationally certified and completed his Master’s of Science. He was an educator for over 25 years.

   Darrel married Donna Ogburn on June 11, 1960. Together they had 63 years of blessings. Darrel passed away at home on October 18, 2023 with Donna by his side.

   Darrel is survived by his wife: Donna of Mayville, ND; five children: Donald Bartholomew of Mayville, ND, Dana (Jeff) Bachmeier of Mayville, ND, Dori Bartholomew of Durham, NC, Dena (Dave) Carey of Ely, MN and David (Melissa) Bartholomew of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren: Desiree (David), Emily, Jacob, Justin, Brett, Brittany, Michael, Madelyn and Cameron; great grandchildren: Calvin and Colby; and his sisters: Marj and Shirley.

   A special thank you to his caregivers at Mayville Sanford Clinic, Roger Maris Cancer Center and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Visitation:  Will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral Service: Will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 23, 2023 at the Riverside Evangelical Free Church in Mayville, ND.
