Dallas Lynn Evanson

 Dallas Lynn Evanson of Portland, ND passed peacefully at home on June 16, 2024 at the age of 70 after a four year battle with pancreatic cancer.

 Born November 13, 1953, son of Leo and Clara (Tunseth) Evanson at Union Hospital in Mayville. Dallas was baptized and confirmed at Mayville Lutheran and graduated with the last of the Lions from Mayville High School in 1971. Upon graduation he earned a degree in Auto Mechanics in Laramie, WY and then enlisted into the United Sates Air Force as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist. After an honorable discharge from the Air Force he attended Mayville State and UND and then managed the Buxton Plant for Valley Bean Association.

 He married Candyce Koehmstedt in June of 1983 and they made their home in Fargo where Dallas worked as a partsman at Freightliner. They later divorced and he returned to Mayville and worked as a carpenter until retiring. Upon retiring he was able to enjoy more time at his second home in Pekin, fishing on Stump Lake.

 Dallas is survived by his daughter: Whitney Evanson of Colorado Springs, CO and his son: Michael Evanson of West Fargo, ND; mother: Clara Evanson of Portland, ND; sisters: Karen (Jim) McCain of Hillsboro, OR, Linda (Ron) Blanchek of Tempe, AZ and Carol (Todd) Schmidt of Portland, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Leo.

 Given his quiet nature, Dallas requested that no formal service be held after his passing.
