Cary Lynn Nelson, 73, of Page ND passed away peacefully on October 2, 2022, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo ND, with family members present.
Son of Patricia (Kent) and Dewey Nelson, Cary was born on July 1, 1949 in Fargo, North Dakota. He attended and graduated from Page Public School in 1968 where he participated and excelled in athletics.
Cary began his college endeavor at Valley City State University in the fall and enlisted in the Army as the Vietnam crisis was calling for volunteers. He proudly served two years in the U.S Army and with of those a tour of Vietnam. Cary earned several medals for outstanding performance during his tour.
Cary married Martha Pilgrim and raised two daughters, Darci and Andrea. He received his degree from Wahpeton State School of Science in heating and cooling systems and work for B and L Steel in Bismarck. There began his love for slow pitch softball which continued until the age of 60. Later moving to Page and was head maintenance for the Page Public School for 27 years and bus driver. Cary loved the outdoors. Fishing with family, camping, gardening, softball and hunting.
Cary is survived by his wife: Martha; two daughters: Darci (Richard) Haraldson of Beatrice, Nebraska and Andrea (Michael) Jacobson of Page, North Dakota; grandchildren: Rick, Patrick, Abigail, Johnathan, Ethan, James, Cierra, Xavier and Spencer; great grandchildren: Thomas, Anthony, and Ellie; siblings: Lonnie (Wallace) Thorson, Vaughn, Jay (Lori) Nelson, Jill (Todd) Unterseher and Todd (Joni) Nelson.
He is preceded in death by his father Dewey and mother Patricia.

Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Friday, October 14, 2022 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Page, ND.
Military Honors: Morton~Reger American Legion Post 154 of Page, ND and the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors.
Burial: Will be in the Page Cemetery in Page, ND.
