Bonneita "Bonnie" Jacobson

November 2, 1942 — April 1, 2022

Bonneita “Bonnie” Jacobson, 79, of Mayville, ND died on Friday, April 1, 2022 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND.

Bonneita Rae (Gisvold) Jacobson was born on November 2, 1942, in Grandin, ND to Ralph and Lila Gisvold.  After attending school in Grandin, Bonnie started her own family. She married Gary Jacobson and their union created three children – LouAnn, Lynette, and Bruce. For most of her life, Bonnie lived in Hillsboro, ND.

Bonnie was determined and worked hard to provide for her family. Early on, she worked at the Hillsboro Banner and Coast to Coast store. In 1977, Bonnie went to work at American Crystal Sugar. She made many friends during her 35-year career at American Crystal. Prior to retiring, Bonnie was a Control Room Operator and was very knowledgeable about sugar manufacturing operations.

Bonnie enjoyed flower gardening, being outside, and cooking for friends and family.  Throughout her lifetime, Bonnie loved motorcycles. Family quickly learned that she was a much better as a passenger than driver. Bonnie’s children often recall the time where she drove Bruce’s motorcycle up the wall of the garage. Bonnie loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and had a collection of Harley attire. She was the most stylish Grandma in the nursing home when she would wear her Harley gear. Even though dementia took many of her memories, she would light up when speaking about her times riding motorcycle.

Survivors include her daughter, LouAnn (Devin) of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; daughter, Lynette (Rollin) Eberhardt of Hillsboro; son, Bruce (Kim) of Cummings; sister, Donna Nelson of Hillsboro; grandchildren Nicholas (Stephanie) Lusso, Deana (Chris) Briggs, Kayla (Nick Bowman) Jacobson, Natassaja Eberhardt, Kollin Eberhardt, Morgan Jacobson, and Alexa Jacobson; and many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Lila Gisvold and brothers Vernon Gisvold, Robert Gisvold, and Kenneth Gisvold, and brother-in-law Charles Nelson.

Special gratitude is extended to Luther Memorial Home and Hillsboro Medical Center for their loving care and support of Bonnie.
