Ada Thompson, 96, of Hatton, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Hatton Prairie Village, Hatton, ND.
Ada Marjorie Midtbo was born on September 21, 1928, to Tollef and Angela (Pladson) Midtbo. She was baptized and confirmed at Goose River Lutheran Church, rural Hatton. She graduated from Northwood High School and received a teaching certificate at Mayville College. Ada taught country school at Newburgh # 5.
On June 2nd, 1951, Ada married Ted Thompson at Goose River Lutheran. Together they farmed west of Hatton in Steele County. She was an active member of Goose River Church, taught Sunday School, played the organ, and accompanied various singing groups. Ada also served as a 4-H leader, enjoyed ceramics, cooking, quilting, and raising 4 children.
Ada is survived by her children: Faye (Mark) Duncan, Hatton ND, Julae Rosenwald, West Fargo, ND, John Thompson, Hatton, ND and Ann (John) Lundeby, Belleville, Il; grandchildren: Nathan (Amy) Duncan, Lee (Chelsea) Duncan, Christopher (Jamie) Bulson, Kimberly (Clint) Skog, Joshua (Stephanie) Lundeby and Elizabeth (Bryan) Heil; 9 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; brother: Guy (Carol) Midtbo, Beaver Dam, WI and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 71 years: Ted; brother: Olaf; sister-in-law: Jean Midtbo; sons-in-law: Steve Bulson and Steve Rosenwald; grandson: Weston Duncan; in-laws: Lewis and Ida Thompson, Nickoli Thompson, Edward and Elisa Benson; niece: Janice Lonski.
Memorials may be given to the Hatton Area Community Foundation or any charity of your choice.
Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Funeral Service: Will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 3, 2025 at the Hatton Prairie Village Chapel in Hatton, ND.
Burial: Will be in the Goose River Cemetery in rural Hatton, ND.
