Agnes Lenaburg, 97, of Mayville died Thursday, October 26, 2006, at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. She was born on October 9, 1909, in Litchville, ND, the daughter of Amund and Josephine (Pederson) Rockswold. After graduation from Litchville High School, she attended Interstate Business College in Fargo and then returned to Litchville to work as a bank receiver. She met Harry Lenaburg soon after he began working at the Litchville grain elevator. They married on May 27, 1932 and in April 1939 moved to Portland when Harry became manager of the Farmers Elevator. Agnes worked as a bookkeeper at the elevator first seasonally, then part time and finally full time until she retired in 1971. After retirement she and Harry moved to Mayville and wintered in Arizona. She enjoyed playing cards, golfing, traveling and church activities. After Harry died in 1984, Agnes continued living in Mayville, eventually moving into Luther Memorial Home. She is survived by three children, Ed (Molly) Lenaburg, Portland, ND; Karen (Keith) Boe, Minneapolis, MN; and David (Cheryl) Lenaburg, Rockville, MD. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry, and oldest son, Dean (Mary) Lenaburg in February, 2006.
