Nellie L. Punton, 89, of Absaraka, ND, our Precious Wife, Mother, and Grandmother went to be with Jesus, Friday, August 18, 2006. Nellie L. Young was born on March 30,1917, to George and Nellie (Kimble) Young in Breckenridge, Minnesota. She married Arthur Anderson in 1939. He passed away. She met and married Curt Punton, August 13, 1956 in Sisseton, South Dakota. They spent 50 years of very happy married life together. Nellie and Curt were each other’s best friends. They enjoyed doing everything together. They loved going to Bingo, occasional casino trips, taking sight seeing rides and various other things. It is to say when you saw one of them, you saw the other. Being an excellent cook, Nellie took pride in making Curt his favorite foods, especially homemade strawberry shortcake. Nellie was a very talented woman. She was an expert gardener. Many people commented on her having a real "green thumb." She loved her vegetable garden and her flowers were always so beautiful, she loved watching them grow. Her cooking talent was as professional. Her children and grandchildren looked forward to getting some of Grandma's "goodies". She had a real talent for crocheting, making her family many heirlooms to cherish. We could not have asked for a better Wife, Mother or Grandmother. She is the best. We will miss her more than words can ever express.
