Marion Tastad

Marion Tastad, 94, Mayville, ND died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at her home under Hospice care. Marion Lottie Enger was born on December 10, 1911 in Viking Township near Portland, ND to Carl and Marie (Gubberud) Enger. She graduated from Mayville High School. She worked for the R.C. Little family in Mayville and for a short time worked in Minneapolis. On July 3, 1946 she married Erling Tastad in Crookston, MN. They farmed near Mayville and were part owners of Tastad Motor Company, Mayville. Throughout her life Marion was known for her great sewing and cooking skills, large vegetable gardens, neatly trimmed yard, and beautiful flowers beds. Her grand children were her special pride and joy in her later years. She is survived by a son, Wayne, Mayville, a daughter, Mary Lou (Fred) Donovan, and two grandchildren, Osa and Orion, all of Portland. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Erling, three sisters, Ruth Enger, Sophie Stenberg, and Stella Enger, and six brothers, Percy, Jerome, Roy, France, Helmer, and Chester. Her gentle and quiet presence will be deeply missed by all. FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, July 6, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Mayville Lutheran Church, Mayville, ND. VISITATION: Wednesday, July 5, 2006 from 5-7 PM at Baker Funeral Home, Mayville, ND and one hour before the funeral at the church. BURIAL: Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
