Agnes Sophia Karlstad

Agnes Sophia Karlstad, 86, Mayville, ND, died Thursday, June 15, 2006 at Union Hospital, Mayville ND. Agnes was born December 7, 1919, at her parents home at Golden Lake Township near Finley, ND, the daughter of the late Nels and Mathilda (Tolen) Pederson. She was confirmed in the Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Golden Lake, Steele County. She attended Golden Lake School in Steele county and Hatton High School. She received her teaching certificate from Mayville Normal School. She married Edgar M Karlstad on July 23, 1939 at her parent’s farm. Edgar and Agnes farmed in the Mayville and Portland area. Edgar passed away August 1985. She is survived by three children, Gary (Nancy) Karlstad, Whitefish, MT, Sharon Ramstad, Mayville, ND, and Wanda (Lauren) Hanson, Portland, ND; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one sister, Mattie Erickson, Hatton, ND; one brother, Joe (Dagny) Pederson, West Fargo, ND; and one sister-in-law Marie Pederson, Hatton, ND. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar, son Mervin, grandson Todd Karlstad, great-granddaughter Megan Ramstad, and five brothers Theodore, Melvin, Albert, Hjalmer and Norman. FUNERAL SERVICE: Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at 10:30 AM at Mayville Lutheran Church, Mayville, ND. VISITATION: Monday, June 19, 2006 from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7PM at Baker Funeral Home, Mayville, ND, and one hour prior to the funeral service, at Mayville Lutheran Church, Mayville, ND. BURIAL: Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
