Melinda Leland went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ January 2, 2018 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND. Melinda was born November 15, 1934 to John and Marie (Moen) Berg, the youngest of five sisters. She grew up on the family farm near Mayville, ND.
Melinda was a master at the piano and organ, and was blessed with the ability to play by ear. She graduated from Mayville High School and continued her education at the State School of Science, studying business. She was a dental assistant and receptionist for five years, an Avon representative for more than eight years and a member of the Mayville Chapter of the General Federation of Women’s Club for 50 years.
The following is Melinda’s message to the Leland family: “I got married to Einar Leland in 1973, he had six very nice children and we got along very good together. Things were tough some days but I learned a lot from that family and never forgot it. We moved to town in 1991. He passed away in 1998. I leave many memories of all behind but I know when the time comes, it comes.”
Melinda was preceded in death by her husband: Einar, of 24 years; parents: John and Marie (Moen) Berg; sisters: Christine Kaldor, Gerda Brennan and Ann Albertson. She is survived by her sister: Ethel Coffin, and the Leland family; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at the Luther Memorial Home Chapel in Mayville, ND.
