Ralph Ingebretson, 85, of Mayville, ND, died Monday, October 19, 2009, at Union Hospital, Mayville. He was born on August 12, 1924, in Mayville, the son of Roger and Manda (Peterson) Ingebretson. Ralph attended country school south of Mayville. He entered the US Army and was stationed in the Philippines. After his discharge in 1946, Ralph returned to Mayville and worked for Moen Implement. On June 20, 1948, he married Edith Gotteberg in Crookston, MN. In 1957, the couple moved to Fargo, ND and Ralph worked for the J I Case Company and in 1963 for the Oliver Corporation, which later became White Farm Equipment, retiring in 1981. He started working for the ND AARP, helping seniors find work till 1986. Ralph was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the American Legion and the Sons of Norway, all of Fargo. He started the Mayville Archery Club, enjoyed wood working, fishing, hunting and dancing to polkas and waltzes. Ralph is survived by his wife of 61 years, Edith of Fargo; one daughter, Marie (Scott) Meyer of Fargo; two sons, Roy (Karen) Ingebretson of Fargo and Terry (Eileen) Ingebretson of West Fargo; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Neal Nelson of Fargo. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Gladys Nelson and Doris Cleven; and three brothers, Kenneth, Martin and Chester, as an infant. Funeral Service: 1:00 PM Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Luther Memorial Home Chapel, Mayville, ND. Visitation: Wednesday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM at Baker Funeral Home, Mayville, ND, and will resume one hour prior to the funeral service at Luther Memorial Home. Interment: Mayville City Cemetery
