Richard “Dick” Rosevold, 80, of Mayville, ND died Friday, September 4, 2009 at Union Hospital in Mayville. Dick was born July 16, 1929 in Grand Forks, ND to Oscar and Katherine (Eastgate) Rosevold. He graduated from Mayville High School and attended two years of college at NDSU before going into farming at Mayville. In 1959, Dick married Betty Braaten in Mayville. Together they had three daughters. Dick began working in the elevator business in 1965 and managed elevators in Humboldt, MN and Neche, ND from 1969-1993. He was on the North Dakota Grain Dealers Board for nine years, serving as president from 1992-1994. He retired in the fall of 1993 and moved back to Mayville. In 1995 he began working for Baker Funeral Home as a funeral assistant. He truly enjoyed his work at the funeral home, and was always there to lend a helping hand. Dick was very active in many different organizations in Neche, and was also on the State Seed Commission. He was a member of Mayville Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, and especially attending his grandchildren’s many activities. Dick is survived by his wife, Betty of Mayville; 3 daughters, Rebecca (Steven) Braaten of Portland, ND, Kathleen (Kent) Nygaard of Grand Forks, ND, and Mary (Paul) Bommersbach of Lompoc, CA; 5 grandchildren, Amanda (Erik) Nelson of Fargo, ND, Ian and Emily Beaton of Grand Forks; Cody and Amy Bommersbach of Lompoc, CA; step-grandchildren, Jessica (Pat) Moore of Mesa, AZ, Joshua (Jerilyn) Braaten of Portland, ND, JoDee Braaten of Mesa, AZ, Trevor and Connor Nygaard, both of Larimore, ND; step great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jackson Braaten, Maggie and Sean Moore, and Trystan Gillis; brother-in-law Lindy Holt of Mayville; aunt, Frances Anderson of Napa, CA; nephews, Steve Holt of Mayville, and Tim (Denise) Holt of Grand Forks; niece, Sharyl (Bruce) Hanson of Mayville; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Douglas, sister-in-law, Nettie Holt, and nephew, Doug Holt. Memorial Service: Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Mayville Lutheran Church, with a Visitation one hour prior to the memorial service, at the church.
