Earl Belling, 58, of Erie, ND, died Friday, August 28, 2009, at the Veterans Hospital in Fargo, ND. He was born on May 24, 1951, in Valley City, ND, the son of Oscar and Evelyn (Carr) Belling. Earl attended the Litchville High School. He entered the United States Marine Corps in April of 1970, serving in Okinawa, Japan. After his discharge in August of 1975, Earl worked for the Burlington Railway and in 1983 moved to Erie where he started the Belling Tree Service and had worked there since. Earl was happily in love for 19 years with Pamela Henjum and on August 27, 2009, they were married. He was a 25 year member of the American Legion Post 223 of Erie and was very proud to be a Marine. Earl loved to ride motorcycles and work on old cars. He was a great father who loved his family and many friends that he cherished. It was said “He took the scenic route in life.” Earl is survived by his wife, Pamela Belling of Erie; two daughters, Evelyn Belling of Moorhead, MN and Stacy (Chad) Lafave of Grand Forks, ND; three sons, David (Jennifer) Belling of Erie, Jess (Jillian Krivarchka) Belling of Grand Forks and Troy Rea of Fargo; one sister, Elizabeth (Wayne) Hatch of Chaska, MN; one brother, Gene Belling of Erie and one step grandson, Kruse Rea. Earl is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Joseph Belling. Memorial Service: 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 2, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hunter, ND. Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial: Erie Cemetery, Erie, ND.
