Arlene Jeanette (Fiskum) Jorgensen's heart was as full of love as it could be here on earth, and was called home to the Lord on January 10th 2017. Arlene was born December 6, 1936 in Mayville, ND the middle daughter of Theodore and Inez (Aasen) Fiskum. She was a lifetime member of First American Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed, taught Sunday school and married. She was the organist for 50 years, and a true prayer warrior. She attended and graduated from Mayville High School and then earned her teaching certificate at the Mayville Normal School. On December 27, 1956 she was united in marriage to the love her life, Laurel Jorgensen and shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. From this union was born Jodie, Jeanette and Jamie. Arlene always the teacher, was instrumental in starting up the now Mayville State University Child Care Center. She was a writer of children's books, enjoying the curiosity of her 6 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was so in touch with her husband, daughters and all of her grandchildren, loving them with all her heart. Always eager to lend an ear or give a hug when needed not only to family members but strangers that became like her own children and extended family. Her sense of humor was known by all, always making people laugh and smile. Arlene left behind a loving husband Laurel; three daughters: Jodie (Gary), Jeanette (Todd) and Jamie (Mick); her six loving grandchildren: Heather (Jonny), Aaron (Lindsay), Ashley (Michael), Amanda (Todd), Jeremy (Christina) and Jessie (Hannah); twenty two great grandchildren: Dylan, Kaitlynn, Alex, Laurelee, Madison, Fabian, Cash, Kennedy, Caden, Zayden, Blaikli, Reagan, Haley, Jared, Gavin, Roegen, McKenna, Owen, Isabelle, Emile, Noah and Hudson. They now all have a Guardian Angel in heaven to watch over them. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ted and Inez Fiskum; her brother: Tobi and her great grandson: Brody. Visitation: Will be from 1–3 PM on Sunday, January 15, 2017 with a 3:00 PM Public Prayer Service at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Monday, January 16, 2017 at the First American Lutheran Church in Mayville, ND. Burial: Will be in the Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
