Bart Luther Aamold

Bart Luther Aamold, 51, of Portland, North Dakota, beloved husband, father, son and friend died on Monday, December 19, 2016. He was born the son of Charles and Laverne (Bakke) Aamold in Ontario, California, on March 20, 1965. He was raised in Hesperia, CA, and graduated from Victor Valley High School in 1983. He moved to North Dakota in 1997 where he met and married Lisa Knutson on March 31, 2001. They made their home in Portland, ND, where they raised their sons, Matthew and Jared, and owned and operated their own business. He will probably be remembered most for his quick wit and sense of humor. He was a gentle giant with a heart of gold and deep love for his family. He would do anything for anybody. One of his greatest joys was having the opportunity to coach Jared and "the kids" in baseball and football. He also enjoyed watching MayPort Ice Dawgs Hockey and volunteering many hours to the club. His summer weekends were spent at the lake where friends became family and many found memories were made. He is survived by his wife Lisa, son Jared, son Matthew (Jessica) Hausmann, granddaughter Emma Hausmann, mother Laverne Aamold, brother Steve Aamold, brother Tim (Michelle) Aamold, sister Deborah Aamold, and brother John (Robin) Aamold and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Charles (Luther) Aamold. Visitation: Will be from 9 to 11 AM on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 with at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND. Memorial Service: 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND. After the service, the family will gather at the Portland Senior Center for a time of sharing and a lunch.
