Corinne Ardell Hefta

Corinne Ardell (Bye) Hefta, 92, formerly of Fargo, died on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Baptist Health Care Center, Bismarck, ND. She left this earthly life to be with her Lord and departed loved ones in the faith. Corinne was born to Carelius and Emma Bye on September 3, 1924 at the family home near Hatton, ND. She attended country school near Hatton. She first worked for several families in and near Mayville, ND including Governor Brunsdale. On April 30, 1944 Corinne married Gordon Hefta at her parent’s home near Beaver Creek. Gordon and Corinne farmed west of Portland, ND. There they raised three children: Donald, Connie and Ronald. In 1970 they moved to Mayville where she managed Mayville Improvement and also the Mayfair Apartments. In 2000, she and Gordon moved to Fargo. They were married nearly 68 years before Gordon’s passing in 2012. Corinne loved her family and worked hard in guiding and providing for them so that they might lead productive and God pleasing lives. She was very instrumental in seeing that all of her children received college degrees. In her younger years Corinne was an active member of Aurdal Lutheran Church. Corinne served as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, President of the ladies aid, as well as a board member and trustee of the church. Corinne delighted in her eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Her face lit up whenever she saw them. She would often laugh and comment, “Look at what Gordon and I started!” Corinne was hard-working, determined, strong-willed, organized, and a conscientious person. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, immaculate housekeeper, sweets pusher and classy lady. In her later years she loved to read her daily devotions. Corinne longed to live in Paradise with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Corinne will be missed by her children: Rev. Donald (Barbara) Hefta of El Reno, OK, Connie (Scott) Carter of Mandan, ND and Ronald (Mary) Hefta of Hazen, ND; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a sister: Judith Bressler of Marysville, WA and numerous other relatives and friends. Corinne was preceded in death by her husband: Gordon; parents: Carelius and Emma Bye and a brother: Amos Bye. Visitation: Will be from 5–7 PM on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Aurdal Lutheran Church in Portland, ND. Burial: Will be in the Aurdal Cemetery, Portland, ND.
