Raymond Duane Schreiner, 84, of Mayville, ND died Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Union Hospital, Mayville ND. Ray Schreiner was born July 12, 1921 rural Mayville, ND, the son of Andrew S. and Amelia (Vonesh) Schreiner. He attended school at Lindaas Consolidated School through 10th grade. He then received agricultural education through correspondence from LaSalle University. On June 19, 1945 he married Gladys Tannahill at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Thompson, ND. They lived in rural Mayville where Ray farmed with his dad until 1960. He continued to farm until he retired in 1970. They moved into Mayville in September 1980. Ray was trustee of the Eagles for three years, and for several years he was trustee of his church, served on Lindaas Township board, and worked for the National Farm Organization. Ray enjoyed 12 years of traveling to Arizona during the winter. He also enjoyed fishing at Lake of the Woods. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gladys Schreiner, Mayville, ND; 6 children, Sharon (Robert) Bjerke, Clifford, ND, Marie Thykeson, Lewiston, ID, Tim Schreiner, Hillsboro, ND, Beverly (James) Brust, Laramie, WY, Jan (Tom) Oelrich, West Fargo, ND, and Andrew, (Vicki) Schreiner, Mayville, ND; 16 grandchildren, Michael Bjerke, Angela (Chad) Lindstrom, Brian (Erin) Bjerke, Todd (Olivia) Thykeson, Tammy Green, Tonya (Daniel) Pruneda, James (Kacey) Schreiner, Joseph Schreiner, Joseph Brust, Tina Brust, Jonathan Brust, Barry (fiancée Wendy) Oelrich, Tami (William) Rygg, Justin (fiancée Kara) Schreiner, Allison Schreiner, and Brandon Schreiner; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Avis (Walter) Majkrzak, Thompson, ND; and brother-in-law, Dwight Doyle, Lakota, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Irene Doyle, and son-in-law Lowell Thykeson. FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 AM Saturday, April 22, 2006 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Mayville, ND. VISITATION: Friday, April 21, 2006 from 5-7PM with a prayer service to follow at 7PM, and one hour prior to the funeral, all at the church. BURIAL: Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
