Jean Capouch, 83, of Mayville, ND, died April 10, 2016 under the loving care of Hospice of the Red River Valley and the dedicated staff at Luther Memorial Home. Jean was born March 9, 1933 to Frank and Ida (Corah) Wippler in Lankin, ND. She graduated from Lankin High School in 1950 and taught in rural schools. She married Wendell Capouch on December 29, 1953. Jean attended Mayville State University, graduating with majors in English and Elementary education. She taught in the Mayville Portland elementary school system for over 30 years, touching many young lives. Jean volunteered countless hours to many community organizations. Jean leaves fond memories with her four children: Sue Reiser, Turtle Lake, ND, Tom (Nancy) Capouch, Portland, ND, Patty (Shawn) Ogburn, Mayville, ND, and Peggy (Nathan) Martin, Ponte Vedra, FL. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren: Sally, Peter and Sarah Hallingstad, Matt Reiser, Ryan and Ross Capouch, Jessica, Katelyn, Daniel and Benjamin Ogburn, Libby, Robert and J.J. Martin and two great grandchildren: Micha and Cora. She is preceded in death by her husband: Wendell “Wendy” in January of 2012; a sister: Florence Lawson and a brother: Melvin Wippler. Visitation: Will be from 5–7 PM with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and will resume one hour prior to the service. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 AM Friday, April 15, 2016 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Mayville, ND. Burial: Will be at the Mayville Cemetery in Mayville, ND.
