Hazel Beatrice Satrom

Hazel Beatrice (Mehus) Satrom, 94, passed away January 13, 2016 at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. ND. Hazel was born August 8, 1921 to Nels George & Artha (Stavens) Mehus on a farm west of Hatton, ND. Hazel grew up the youngest girl of 8 siblings; 4 girls followed by 4 boys. Hazel loved her time spent in 4-H and was proud of picking potatoes to earn money for her high school class ring. Hazel married Otto B Satrom on August 8, 1940, at the Goose River Parsonage, Hatton, ND. They raised 4 children: Bonnie (Lyle) Bring, Pelican Rapids, MN, John (Lori) Satrom, Galesburg, ND, Nola (Mark) Schmitt, Weyerhaeuser, WI and Lora (John Mike) Cunningham, Portland, ND. In addition to her children, Hazel is survived by 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters-in-law: Merle Mehus, Hatton, ND and Lorraine Mehus, Valley City, ND. Preceded in death by husband, Otto, great- granddaughter Brittnee Bring, and siblings Evy (Oliver) Holdal, Amy (Walter) Thompson, Nina (Sammy) Thompson, Gunder (Judy) Mehus, Morris Mehus, Art Mehus, Raymo Mehus Memorials are preferred to Luther Memorial Home, Mayville, ND or Elm River Cemetery, Galesburg, ND. Visitation: Will be from 5–7 PM with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the Luther Memorial Home Chapel and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 10:30 AM Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Elm River Lutheran Church in Galesburg, ND. Burial: Will be at the Elm River Cemetery in Galesburg, ND.
