John Arthur Wagner

John Arthur Wagner, 91, of Arthur, ND, formerly of Erie, ND died Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Good Samaritan Society in Arthur, ND. John was born on June 15, 1924 in Motley, MN to Arthur and Rose (Mathews) Wagner. The family moved to Erie, ND later that year. After his schooling, he moved to Three Forks, MT and worked for a time, returning to Erie in 1942. John farmed and ranched all his life, retiring in the mid 1990’s. John enjoyed woodworking and over the years he made many types of toys, knickknacks and wood crafts. He was known as a very kind hearted, generous and shy man. He is survived by a sister: Violet Hankinson and a brother: Clayton Wagner both of Montana; numerous nieces and nephews; and his good friend Louis (Rae) Rieke of Erie, ND. John is preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Ruth Mathis. Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the memorial service. Memorial Service: 3:30 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society Chapel in Arthur, ND. Burial: Will be at the Erie Cemetery, Erie, ND.
