Benjamin “Ben” C. Kvislen, 39, of Mayville, ND, formerly of Finley, ND died August 8, 2015 at the Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND. Ben was born October 31, 1975 in Valley City, ND the son of Tim and Candy Kvislen. He attended school at Finley-Sharon High School, graduating in 1994 and finished his education at Mayville State. Ben proudly served in the North Dakota National Guard from 1994 to 2003, where he met many lifelong friends. Ben was passionate about music and thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent playing with the band “Joyride” and his two band mates Hagen and Paul, who quickly became good friends. Drumming was the love of his life from 5th grade and continued until his death. He also loved building things with Lego blocks (even at the age of 39) and helping his nephews build their sets. He was always a kid at heart. Ben enjoyed remote control cars, playing hard and living life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by his parents: Tim and Candy Kvislen; his siblings: Jennifer (Josh) Carlson and Melissa (Corey) Genter; 3 nieces and 2 nephews; but the greatest joy in his life was his daughter Ellie. He also leaves numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. “Going up to the spirit in the sky ~~~ you are in the place that’s the best.” Visitation: Will be 5 – 7 PM on Thursday, August 13, 2015 with a 7 PM public prayer service at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial Service: 10:30 AM Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Finley Lutheran Church in Finley, ND. Military Honors: by the Peterson-Olson Post 13 of Finley, ND and the ND Military Funeral Honors. Burial: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
