Gloria A. (Ziniel) Braaten, 79, of Mayville, ND died on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Sanford Hospital in Mayville, ND. Gloria was born 4-11-36 in Huff, N.D. to Joe & Corinne (Morstad), Ziniel. She graduated from Mayville in 1954. Gloria worked as a nurse’s aide at Union Hospital from 1954-1956. Gloria married G. Aldus Braaten on Oct. 20th, 1956. They farmed south of Mayville. Gloria was a member of Mayville Lutheran, VFW Auxillary, Sr. Citizens, and Debrah Circle. Gloria loved hockey, golf, cards, bingo and enjoying her grandchildren, great grandchildren and their many activities. Gloria was always proud of her sons, but especially since her illness. She was so pleased that her boys attended all of her appointments, kept track of schedules, put on her stockings daily, managed her affairs and learned how to become nurses and drain her tube every day. Gloria wanted to express a special thank you to Hospice Care, Elva Carlson, Caroline Tunseth, Kazia Gummer, and her birthday club friends of many years. Survived by her children: Kevin (Ann), Randy (Michelle) and Ronnie (Tana); daughter-in-law Kristie; grandchildren: Tyler (Ashley), Cody, Josh Wastvedt, Kayla (Curt) Hanson, Dustin, Shelby, Miranda and Lindsey Braaten; great grandchildren: Coleton, Mason and Chloe; sister: Linda (Bud) Crawford; two sisters-in-law: Linda Ziniel and Ruthie Farm; brother-in-law: Duane Hanson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband: G. Aldus; son: Kim; parents: Joe & Corinne Ziniel; brother: Ricky Ziniel; parents-in-law: George & Alma Braaten; sister-in-law: Arlene Hanson. Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley, Mayville United Ministries Church furnace fund and the Kim Braaten Memorial Hockey Arena. Visitation: Will be 5 – 7 PM with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service on Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel, in Mayville, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.. Memorial Service: 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the Mayville Lutheran Church in Mayville, ND. Burial: Will be at the Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
