Roger R. Aamold

Roger R. Aamold, 79, of Bemidji, MN, formerly of Buxton, ND died on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Choice Rehab Care in Sun City West, AZ. He was born to Louis & Inga Eken Aamold on April 14, 1935 in Portland, ND. Roger was baptized in the Aurdal Lutheran Church in Portland, ND. His family moved to a farm east of Mayville, ND at the age of two. He attended Lindaas School and graduated from Mayville High School in 1953 and entered into the United States Marine Corps. Roger attended the Mayville College and Augustana College for two years. Roger and Beverly Kobbervig were married on December 15, 1956 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Roger had a career in retail business. He was a manager for FW Woolworth, an Operations Manager for Kmart and a Sales Manager for Interstate Brands. During his working career, he resided in North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Utah before settling in Buxton, North Dakota in 1971. Roger retired with his wife to their Lake Beltrami home in Bemidji, Minnesota in 1991. Roger was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He served as a Municipal Judge for the Town of Buxton. He loved sports and played basketball/football for Mayville High School. Roger was a diehard Greens Bay Packer fan. Roger is survived by his wife: Beverly Aamold, Bemidji, MN; sons: Richard (Holly) Aamold, Buxton, ND and Jeffery (Mona) Aamold, Scottsdale, AZ; daughter: Michelle (Mark) Undiano, Surprise, AZ; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister: Donna Wonser, Grand Forks, ND; sisters-in-law: LaVerne Aamold, Mayville, ND, Lorna Aamold, Grand Forks, ND and Patty (Rick) Adams, Kellogg, MN; brother-in-law: Tony (Karen) Kobbervig, Valley City, ND; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was proceded in death by his parents: Louis & Inga Eken Aamold; brothers: Leonard, Duane and Luther; sisters: Ione Tunseth and Marian Johnson Berg; brothers-in-law: Allan Johnson, Milton Tunseth, Loren Berg and Charles “Chuck” Wonser. Visitation: Will be 5 – 7:00 PM with a 6:30 PM Public Prayer Service on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Buxton, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Buxton, ND. Burial: Will be at Immanuel West Cemetery, Buxton, ND.
