Margaret Estelle (Gulbranson) Schultz, 86, entered her heavenly home Monday, October 20th, 2008 in the loving care of Mayville Luther Memorial Home after recent visitation of family members and many friends. Margaret was born August 2, 1922 to Harold and Alma (Brend) Gulbranson in Portland, ND. She was raised in the Mayville-Portland community and attended Mayville Public School. Margaret was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, later attending the United Church of Christ, Pentecostal, and Evangelical churches in the area. She married Lloyd James Schultz on February 14, 1945 and they resided in Traill County, moving to Mayville Luther Memorial Home in 2007. After over sixty-three years of marriage, Lloyd passed away February 27, 2008. Margaret began her teaching career shortly after graduation from high school with a teaching certificate. She continued to teach and pursue her learning, gaining her Standard Degree and then graduating with her Bachelor Degree from Mayville State Teachers College in 1963. Margaret’s teaching career extended for approximately 40 years throughout Traill County. She retired from the Mayville-Portland Public School system in 1980. Lloyd and Margaret had seven children: Adonica (Robert) Aune of Grand Forks, ND, Karen (Jerry) Srur of Brush, CO, Sharolyn (Dan) Schneider of Crete, NB, Lydell (Peggy) Schultz of Mayville, ND, Wendle Schultz of Fargo, ND, Lorrie (Mary) Schultz of Fargo, ND, and Korey (Tammy) Schultz of Green Isle, MN. Margaret is survived by six of her seven children, 22 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters, Gertrude (Vern) Garrett of Canton, IL and Dorothy McGowan of Colusa, CA, three brothers, Ray Gulbranson of Mayville, Jerry (Judy) Gulbranson of Mesa, AZ and Darryl Gulbranson of Mayville, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by husband Lloyd, son Lorrie in 2006, her parents, and three sisters, Kathy McLain, Barbara McLain, and Loretta Hiestand. Funeral: 1:30 P.M. Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Luther Memorial Home Chapel, Mayville, ND. Visitation: Will be Friday from 5 – 7 P.M., with a 7 P.M. prayer service, and one hour prior to the funeral service, both at the Luther Memorial Home Chapel. Burial: Mayville Cemetery
