Lillian L. Jemtrud

Lillian Lenora Jemtrud, 97, of Mayville, ND, died Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Luther Memorial Home, Mayville, ND. Lillian Lenora Jemtrud was born on December 29, 1916, in Mayville, ND to John Basol and Louise (Nelson) Basol and was raised on the family farm in rural Portland. Lillian attended parochial school through the 8th grade. She married Marcus Jemtrud on February 14, 1942 and they farmed in the Portland area. Lillian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of the Little Forks Lutheran Church of Hatton and was an honorary member of the Ladies Aide there. Lillian was an excellent cook, baker, and gardener. She enjoyed making "Norwegian treats" anytime of the year. She loved playing cards. Lillian is survived by her sister, Norma Olson, Breckenridge, MN; sons, John (Sandy) Jemtrud, Englewood, FL and Lloyd Jemtrud, West Fargo, ND; Granddaughters, Stacy (Anthony) Lofton, Robin Jemtrud, Shannon (Phil) Hebert, all of Fargo, ND. She is also survived by step grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Lillian is preceded in death by her husand, Marcus; daughter-in-law, Donna; and several sisters and brothers. The family of Lillian L. Jemtrud gratefully acknowledges your attendance and many kind expressions of sympathy during their time of loss. Visitation: Will be 5 – 7 PM with a 7:00 PM Public Prayer Service on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Little Forks Lutheran Church in Hatton, ND. Burial: Will be at Little Forks Cemetery, Hatton, ND.
