Adele H. Halvorson, age 94, passed away on October 26, 2014 under the loving care of Sanford Hillsboro Care Center in Hillsboro, ND and the Red River Valley Hospice. Adele Henrietta Erickson was born October 21, 1920 near Galesburg, ND. She was the daughter of Halfton and Annie (Ness) Erickson. She grew up in the Galesburg area where she attended country school and high school at Oak Grove in Fargo. Adele was united in marriage to Orville Halvorson on December 12, 1941 in Portland, ND. After Orville came home from WWII, they initially made their home in Hunter then in Greenfield Township for many years. They moved to a farm outside of Galesburg where they continued to farm until they retired in 1990. Adele loved the farm life and keeping everyone well fed. Adele was a life-long member of Stordahl Lutheran Church in rural Galesburg. She is lovingly survived by three sons: Gary (Mary), Joel (Bonnie), and Dewey all of Galesburg. Grandchildren: Jane, Curtis, Laura, James, Jana, Courtney, Wyatt and Phoebe. Great-Grandchildren: Christopher, Nicholas, Casie, Stella, Sophia and Tanier and two great-great Grandchildren: James and Haley. She is also survived by her brother Lloyd and her sister Hazel Berg and many nieces and nephews. Adele is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Harvey and sister Inez Rud. Adele’s family would like to extend their appreciation for the exceptional care provided by Martina Lyng and Kris Moen who made it possible for her to stay close to the farm and her beloved “boys”. Visitation: Will be 5 – 7 PM with a 6:00 PM Public Prayer Service on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 10:30 AM Friday, October 31, 2014 at the Stordahl Lutheran Church in rural Galesburg, ND. Burial: Will be at the Stordahl Cemetery, Galesburg, ND.
