Gerald Kyllo, 84, of West Fargo, died Friday September 25, 2008 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, ND, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Gerald Sidney Kyllo was born on June 7, 1924, in Greenfield Township, the only child to Oscar and Mabel (Paulson) Kyllo. He attended Greenfield Consolidated School. Gerald raised hogs, chickens and cows as a 4H member. He was also a 4H club leader in the 1940’s. Gerald farmed with his father until his father’s death in 1944. Gerald married the love of his life, Marion Reinhart of Mayville, ND on July 17, 1946 in Crookston, MN. They lived on and farmed the Kyllo Brother’s Farm since October 1946. This is a centennial farmstead, having been in the family for more than 100 years. Gerald served on the Galesburg Elevator Board of Directors for more than 25 years. He was also on the Portland Farmers Union Oil Company Board for 20 years. Gerald was a lifelong member of Stordahl Lutheran Church, rural Galesburg, and served in all offices throughout the years. Gerald thoroughly enjoyed farming, auctions, parades and watching his crops change with the seasons. He was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Gerald is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marion of West Fargo; three daughters, Evelyn (Peter) Bertzyk of Arthur, ND, Helen (Sheridan) Breding of West Fargo, and Geri (Jeff) Voltz of Galesburg, ND; grandchildren, Laura Bertzyk of West Fargo, Rodney (Amy Elizabeth) Bertzyk of Hunter, ND, Tanya (Dave) Ackerson of Barnesville, MN, Amy (Richard) Paul of Galesburg, ND, Jason (Jeanette) Breding of Wasilla, AK and Kim Breding of Fargo; great-grandchildren, Alissa Johnson, Samantha Teschendorf, and Abigail, Bethany and Caleb Breding; and step great-grandchildren, Gillian and Ian Lura. Memorials are preferred to Stordahl Lutheran Church Cemetery, or Hospice of the Red River Valley. Funeral Service: Monday, September 29, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Stordahl Lutheran Church, Galesburg, ND. Visitation: Sunday, September 28, 2008 from 3-5 PM with a prayer service at 5 PM at Baker Funeral Home, Mayville, and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial: Stordahl Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Galesburg, ND.
