Robert J. Reynolds

Robert “Bob” Reynolds, 80, of Portland, ND, died on Monday, September 8, 2014 at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Robert James Reynolds was born at home on the farm near Clifford, ND on February 27, 1934 to Robert E. and Mina (Berglie) Reynolds. He graduated high school from Clifford in 1952. Bob entered the US Army and served in Korea. After being honorably discharged, he returned to North Dakota. He married Sylvia Anderson in 1960 and farmed all his life until he retired in 1992. Bob served on the Clifford Rural Fire Department and was a member of the Norman Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, traveling the countryside, antique equipment, watching western shows and seeing his grandchildren. Robert is survived by his children, Carla (Peter) Sather, Grandin, ND; Michael (Shannon) Reynolds, Portland, ND; Mary Leedom (Dave Rasmussen) Fargo, ND and Daniel Reynolds, Portland, ND; grandchildren Clay Leedom (Suzanne Rawdon), Colin Hanson (Erin Tungseth), Elizabeth Reynolds (Josh McGinnis), Meghan (Ben) Gates, Jacob Reynolds and great-grandchildren Emmett and Tucker Gates; and a sister Shirley (Albert) Nelson. Robert was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation: Will be 5 – 7 PM with a 7:00 PM Public Prayer Service on Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Norman Lutheran Church in Clifford, ND. Burial: Will be 12:30 PM Saturday at the Mayville Cemetery in Mayville, ND.
