Odel Louis Dauphanais, 66, of Portland, ND, died Thursday, August 28, 2008, at the Union Hospital in Mayville, ND. Odel was born on August 13, 1942 to Charley and Celina (St. Vincent) Dauphanais in Olga, ND. He attended high school in Walhalla, ND. He married Lou (Bartlette) on November 12, 1963 in Grand Forks, ND. Together they had four children. Odel worked for various farmers in the Red River Valley for most of his life. He later moved to Mayville where he worked at the John Deere Implement until he retired. He is survived by three children, Anthony Dauphanais of Sioux Falls, SD, Barbara Dauphanais of Moorhead, MN, and John (Marla) Dauphanais of Morrow, OH; four sisters, Doreen (Clarence) Mager of Portland, Mary Vondal of Fargo, ND, Doris Mathues of Grand Forks, and Dileen Hess of Missoula, MT; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Dauphanais on August 27, 2008, his parents, and three brothers, Larry, Percy and Edward. Funeral Service: Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 1:00 pm at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville. Visitation: Will be from 11–1 pm Saturday at the Baker Funeral Home in Mayville. Burial: Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
